After more than a year of staying here, I finally was able to ride the Singapore Flyer! Haha.. Thank you so much for the sponsored ticket, SPA (Singapore Packaging Agreement)! We attended the SPA Awards, our company being among the awardees, and they gave us free tickets to the flyer. And after 3 months of keeping the ticket in my wallet, I finally got to use it before it expired. Yey! 😀
Singapore Flyer is one of the many tourist attractions in the country. Inaugurated in 2008, it consists of 28 air-conditioned capsules that can accommodate up to 28 persons. One complete rotation will take about 30 minutes. Currently the largest observation wheel in the world (even higher than the London Eye), you can enjoy the view of Singapore’s CBD and even the islands of Batam and Bintan, Indonesia as well as Johor, Malaysia.
Quite frankly, it’s not really all that exciting to ride the Flyer, and it cost a lot too, 33sgd (for adults) for a 30-minute ride to a very big Ferris wheel. But hey, I got mine for free (though my companion have to pay for his ticket, ha! ;P). Still, it’s definitely one of those places where you can just say that yeah I got to ride and experience it, but I probably won’t do it again.
See the Singapore Flyer website for more information.
