I am a fan of theme parks! From back when town carnivals were a hit during fiestas in our town, to Enchanted Kingdom in Laguna, then Disneyland Hongkong, and now to Universal Studios Singapore. It always brings out the child in me.
Universal Studios in Singapore is a theme park located in Resorts World, Sentosa Island. It is the second Universal Studios in Asia, US Japan being the first one. Like most theme parks, it is divided into seven themed zones: Hollywood, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away, and Madagascar. I have been to USS twice already. Both times were when my sisters came to visit me, separately of course. The second time the bf also came with us. It’s a good thing we decided to go after the CNY holiday in SG, we were able to still enjoy without loong queues. Since this was my second time, I knew which rides gets the longest queues so the moment we got inside the park, we headed straight to Sci-Fi City for the Transformers 4D! The bf and my sister enjoyed it! Thankfully, we only queued for like 30 minutes. The first time I went we waited for more than 1 hour. Others say they waited for 2 hrs. Anyways, having accomplished that first ride, we were able to enjoy each ride from there forward such as the Battlestar Galactica (we did Cylon twice!), the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure (got ponchos for this one), Revenge of the Mummy: The Ride, Shrek 4-D Adventure, and Madagascar Crate Adventure (a bit boring). We also watched the main shows such as the Waterworld and the Monster Rock. There was also this show in New York zone called Lights! Camera! Action! Hosted by Steven Spielberg which shows a stage with effects to mimic a major hurricane hitting NYC scene. We skipped all of the kids rides because well, uhm, it’s pretty boring. There will be a new attraction that is yet to be opened to public, which is the Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase. I didn’t know Sesame Street was under Universal Studios too. Another thing to look forward to when I return here 😀
In between the rides we got some photoop time, especially since we have a tourist with us, make that two since it’s the bf’s first time here too. There were spots and times when the mascots such as Shrek and Fiona, Cleopatra (i think), Madagascar and friends, Betty Boop, Puss on Boots, Big bird and many more are allowing photoops. The only downer thing was that the rain kept coming and going although thankfully most of the attractions are indoors. I would love to return here again, but this time no more rushing. I already know which rides I would love to repeat again and again.
