Applying for an Australian VISA

Applying for an Australian Visa is totally different from applying for a visa in an Asian country. You can do it online or manually, although I advise to do it online since it easier and faster.

I applied for my VISA through the VFS Global Website. Getting to the correct site for the eVisa application can be quite confusing as there are so many links provided in their website so I hope that this post could be of great help. 🙂

If you are going for a short visit, the visa to apply for is the Visitor Visa (subclass 600). The various types of visit visas are listed on this link. From this link you can choose visitor visa, then choose to apply for the visa online. From there you can Start an application, create an ImmiAccount, log-in and proceed to answer the form online. You can save your work every time you log-out then continue another day. After filling up the form, there will be a page for all the requirements to be attached. The requirement states that each document should be notarized but I didn’t actually have all my documents notarized and my application was approved. The list of required documents are as follows:

  1. Travel Document: Passport – the particulars page of your passport
  2. (Evidence of) Visa status in Country of Residence – in my case, a copy of my Spass
  3. (Evidence of) Travel History – a. Entry/Exit stamped pages of the current passport; b.Entry/Exit stamped pages of the expired passport
  4. (Evidence of) Birth or Age – a copy of my NSO Birth Certificate.
  5. (Evidence of) Work Experience, Overseas – a. Employment Contract from my Employer ; b. Letter/Statement from business/employer stating intent to return to work.
  6. (Evidence of) Financial Capacity, Personal – a copy of one month recent bank statement of my Payroll account.
  7. (Evidence of) Assets, Personal – I used the same bank statement I attached for #6.

After attaching every document, double check all the documents as well as your answers to the form and then you can proceed for payment. Only then will they start to assess your application. The application fee is AUD$ 135 plus surcharges depending on the card you use.

I received an email straightaway to acknowledge my application, as well as a letter requiring me to provide personal identifiers in the form of biometrics. I then had to book for an appointment online for biometrics (fingerprint and facial photo taking). You can also go there for walk-in and just let them know you are there for biometrics. There is a SGD 43.30 (to be paid in cash) processing fee for the biometrics. After that you just have to wait for the Visa Grant to be sent to your email. I received mine a few hours after I got my biometrics taken.

VISA application from the Philippines can also be done online, although the document requirements have a slight difference to the requirements here in Singapore. Also, biometrics is not required and the Visa grant can take upto 5 weeks before approval (or rejection).

Til next time!

You are worth waiting for ♥

I don’t know your name… yet
I’ve never even seen your face
I’m looking with my eyes wide open
Til I find you in the right time and place

Hide your love away
And wait for me, wait for me
I will do the same
Wait for me, wait for me
There will come a day
When i will finally say
Staring in your eyes
I’ve waited my whole life… for this night

Every day you’re prayed for
And I’m dreaming of you every night
Where ever you are right now
You’re already the love of my life

I’m holding on for you
My heart belongs to you
You’re everything that I adore
I’m holding on for you
My heart belongs to you
Darling your love is spoken for

Hide your love away
Wait for me, wait for me
I will do the same
Wait for me, wait for me
With every breath you take
Wait for me, wait for me
I will do the same
Wait for me, oh, wait for me
There will come a day
When finally I say
Staring in your eyes
I’ve waited my whole life
Staring in your eyes
I’ve waited my whole life
For this night

I don’t know your name… yet

** Wait! It’s not over yet. Listen to these guys telling us more about the song, and how you, yes you, are worth waiting for 🙂

Happy New Year!

images Happy New Year!!!

I know this post is a bit delayed. I was on a holiday and then when I came back to SG I caught the virus. The lazybum virus. LOL. Anyways, kidding aside, I have a lot of posts coming up, all of which I have yet to start writing about. But in keeping up with my routine, I want to shout out a Happy New Year! I claim that 2015 is going to be an awesome year. 14 days into it and I’m already faced with a lot of decisions. But I know deep in my heart that God is going to use me significantly this year, and I’m so excited for it. So from me to you, Have an awesome 2015!

Dream of me

Let me sleep
For when I sleep
I dream that you are here
You’re mine
And all my fears are left behind
I float on air
The nightingale sings gentle lullabys
So let me close my eyes

And sleep
A chance to dream
So I can see the face I long to touch
To kiss
But only dreams can bring me this

So let the moon
Shine softly on the boy I long to see
And maybe when he dreams
He’ll dream of me

I’ll hide beneath the clouds
And whisper to the evening stars
They tell me love is just a dream away
I’ll dream away

Dream of me

Last monday we had a chance to watch Jason Mraz live in concert, along with Raining Jane. It has been a long time since I last saw a concert, and it was a welcome break from all the chaos happening in my life. His style of performance is laid back, with stories behind every song, and a lot of improvisation. Even if I don’t know the lyrics to most of the new songs, it was still a very enjoyable experience. Raining Jane is also very good, and they both complement each other. Anyways, this song is among the songs they performed and I liked it even if it was my first time hearing it. ❤

I want to, I want to hold you

Every time I go home there’s another cellphone tower
Construction getting louder,
Paving over yesterdays
You and I, we will try to find the side of it that’s pretty
While our town becomes a city,
We won’t let it be erased

Empires rise, empires fall
Will you be my constant through it all?

I will hold your hand and watch the world spin madly around this life we’re in
Oh yeah everything goes quiet
When it’s you I’m with
Oh yeah everything goes quiet
When it’s you I’m with
You, you, you…

Every once in a while,
You know I get these real bad headaches
Worried about the mistakes
That I’ve made along the way
You and I, we can’t hide from the fact that we need each other
How else will I recover when the fever comes again

Temperatures rise
Temperatures fall
Will you be my constant through it all?

There are no words, no words when
I’m with you, you, you
Every time I hear music
They’ve added more stuff to it
Things are always moving into a futuristic place
Where you and I, we will try
We can try to dance into tomorrow
But time we’ll have to borrow
Not a minute left to waste

Heartbeats rise, heartbeats fall
Will you be my constant through it all?

On Love

‘Love is an open doooooooor.’  ♫♪♫♪

I’m pretty sure most of you are familiar with this song. Nowadays, there are so many definitions of love that someone actually likened it to an open door. But what does it really mean? Don’t worry, I won’t even get to the many different types of love, only the one type that matters the most.

My favorite chapter in the Bible defines it all too well:

“I Corinthians 13

If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

I think Paul was onto something when he wrote this book. After all he has been through, all the hardships, the condemnation, the physical and emotional pain, he still can teach us so much about Love. We say we know how to love, but the truth is, we’re not even halfway there. Love is not just something we feel out of emotions. It’s the very essence of everything we do on this earth. The chapter above basically says that all your talk, actions, and hardships would amount to nothing, if you didn’t do it out of love. Love for others, just as Christ love the church. It’s difficult to grasp the concept because humans tend to be selfish. I admit, most of the time I would still prioritize myself when it comes to doing something. It’s in our very nature. That’s where God’s grace comes in. See, God loves us just as we are. We don’t even have to change our hairstyle, or our clothes, or put on make up, and do charity. He loves us as we are. He accepts us, curves and edges and all. Of course, once you feel that love, you are compelled to be better, just so we can be worthy of that love. But nevertheless, His love still never change.

All my life I think I had it all wrong. I was looking for someone to love me. I was too blind to the things of this world and their concept of love that I was actually looking for it. I even tried to change myself just to get that love. But I don’t need to, it’s been there all along. And once I found it, everything became easier. Seeing other people, trying to understand them, being a better person. Most importantly, I started loving myself more. It took me long enough to realize that. But I’m glad for it, or else, I would’ve been trapped in my own version of love. God’s love is much, much, much better. ❤

Hey it’s Wednesday!

Til next time!
